Creamy Honey Garlic Parmesan Chicken Pasta
If you are looking for a dinner that feels luxurious but comes together without a massive fuss, you’ve just found it. This pasta brings together the sweet-and-savory magic of honey garlic chicken with a thick, glossy, velvet-like parmesan cream sauce that clings beautifully to every single twist of pasta.
Prep time: 15 mins | Cook time: 20 mins | Servings: 4
Ingredients
For the Chicken:
2 large chicken breasts, sliced horizontally into cutlets
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp honey
2 cloves garlic, minced
Salt, black pepper, and paprika (to taste)
For the Pasta & Cream Sauce:
300g Gemelli or Trofie pasta (or your favorite twisted pasta shape)
2 tbsp butter
3 cloves garlic, finely minced
1 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup chicken broth
1 cup freshly shredded Parmesan cheese (plus extra for serving)
Fresh parsley, finely chopped for garnish
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Cook the Pasta
Bring a large pot of salted water to a rolling boil. Drop in your pasta and cook according to the package instructions until it is just al dente. Drain well, but reserve about 1/2 cup of the starchy pasta water just in case you want to thin out your sauce later.
2. Sear the Honey Garlic Chicken
While the pasta cooks, pat your chicken cutlets dry with a paper towel. Season both sides generously with salt, pepper, and a pinch of paprika for that gorgeous golden color.
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook for about 5–6 minutes per side until beautifully seared and cooked through. In the last minute of cooking, reduce the heat slightly, add the minced garlic and drizzle the honey directly over the chicken, turning the pieces over to coat them in the sticky, caramelized glaze. Remove the chicken from the skillet and let it rest on a cutting board before slicing.
3. Build the Glossy Sauce
In the same skillet (don't clean it out! Those leftover browned chicken bits add incredible flavor), melt the butter over medium heat. Add the remaining minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
Pour in the chicken broth and heavy cream. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer and let it bubble for 3–4 minutes until it begins to slightly thicken. Turn the heat down to low and stir in the shredded Parmesan cheese, whisking continuously until the cheese is completely melted and the sauce is smooth, thick, and glossy.
4. Toss and Serve
Add the drained pasta directly into the skillet with the cream sauce. Toss gently until every single twist is thoroughly coated. If the sauce feels a bit too thick, splash in a little of your reserved pasta water to loosen it up.
Divide the pasta into bowls. Top with your sliced, golden-brown honey garlic chicken, an extra dusting of shredded parmesan, and a vibrant sprinkle of freshly chopped parsley. Serve hot and enjoy!
